Join us on an exciting adventure in the beautiful South American country of Ecuador!  Did you know Ecuador is one of the most popular up and coming destinations for travelers?  Friendly and welcoming, and situated on the equator, Ecuador is a great spot for American visitors- the US Dollar is even the official currency! We want to explore it ourselves so we'll be enjoying the 8-Day guided tour, Ecuador Quest, from G- Adventures.  There is space available if you'd like to join!  Our tour departs on July 2, 2022 and will visit some amazing areas of Ecuador.  The highlight of the tour is a two-night stay in a traditional Quichua village, located in the heart of the Amazon rainforest!  Here you'll get a taste of what it is like to live in this area and learn from the native people who are happy to share their culture with us.  Please note the accommodations in the jungle are rustic and will be multi-share, meaning hostel-style accommodations.  This tour is not for everyone- there will be bugs in the rainforest..The amazon is known for amazing wildlife including insects and spiders.  Expect to see them.  You may even have an opportunity to EAT them.

The small group tour includes accommodations, local transportation, the services of an expert guide (G-adventures calls them CEOs, Chief Experience Officers) and several meals throughout the tour.  Not all meals are included- we'll have the opporunity to explore and enjoy local restauarants of our choice, with guidance and recommendations from our CEO.  This tour has ample free time built in, so there's plenty of time to do your own thing!  You can bet I'll be looking for at least one geocache while I'm there.  What will you do?  Optional activities are available for additional cost, but half the fun of traveling is exploring on your own. 

This is a moderately physical tour, and will include moderate hiking, horse-back-riding, biking, etc. There is a good amount of walking on this tour. Participants should be moderately fit and in good health. Those who are more adventurous will have the opportunity to canyoning, mountain biking, and ziplining should you wish (optional activities with additional cost.)  Keep in mind Quito and Ecuador have higher elevations than you may be used to.
